The groundbreaking 2023 TIME100 Summit and Impact Awards Africa, a monumental first for TIME on the continent, were orchestrated by Kelsey’s visionary efforts, curating an impressive lineup of speakers and honorees, securing dynamic moderators, celebrity hosts, and captivating performances. Coming in under budget and on time, the full-day conference and evening gala were fully programmed in less than three months.

TIME100 Summit Africa

Featuring local, regional, and global influencers, the Summit addressed six timely pillars, with live, on-stage moderated panels, including Women’s Equality, A.I. Innovation, Mental Healthcare, Urban Growth, Climate Change, and Next Generation Leadership. Speakers included: President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Hanan Morsy, Edna Adan Ismail, Bogolo Kenewendo, Elizabeth Wathuti, Kate Kallot, Eugenia Kargbo and more. With over 20 total speakers, plus 6 moderators and 2 performances — including a poetry reading by Sudanese refugee Emi Mahmoud — the Summit brought together notable leaders to discuss solutions to urgent global problems. Kelsey confirmed all speakers and talent, oversaw the entire editorial program and agenda, and managed moderator prep and on-site execution.

TIME Impact Awards Africa

Confirmed honorees: Danai Gurira, Kennedy Odede, Ashley Judd, Fred Swaniker, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and Sherrie Silver. The Sherrie Silver Foundation also performed an original piece featuring 60 local children dancers, musicians and singers.

Hosted by superstar Bonang Matheba, and featuring presenters like Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, the evening gala celebrated leaders who are moving our world forward. Kelsey managed scripting, video packages, performances, talent logistics and all bookings.
